SNEAKER WEEK

From the minds behind Pensole, a footwear design school in Portland’s Old Town Chinatown neighborhood, Sneaker Week curates organic experiences that bring together sneaker enthusiasts, industry influencers, and aspiring creative professionals to Portland, the sneaker capital of the world. Sneaker Week partners with the footwear industry and community to cultivate talent while celebrating creatives.
Enjoy this zany original adaptation of one of the oldest stories ever told. Follow young Jack up the beanstalk and into the magical kingdom of a giant who sings and dances in this wacky musical for kids and families. This 50-minute musical features professional actors supported by an ensemble of young artists from Broadway Rose’s kids summer drama camp. After the show, the audience is invited to meet the cast.
PORTLAND PICKLES ALL-STARS VS PORTLAND GHERKINS
July 11–31
Catch the Portland Pickles All-Stars taking on the Portland Gherkins. Cheer on the scrappy, collegiate wood-bat team that turns every game at Walker Stadium into a rowdy, full-throttle spectacle.

Nothing says summer in Portland like a warm evening outdoors with good food and live entertainment. On several evenings throughout the summer, the Oregon Zoo hosts Zoo Nights filled with local music, food carts, activities for all ages and the chance to get to know some of the animals active during twilight hours.
Zoo Nights occur from mid-June through mid-August, with live music on the lawn at 6:30 p.m. and activities from 5:30 p.m. Guests will also find tasty food and snacks — plus the ever-popular elephant ears and a selection of local beer and wine for adults.

PICKATHON MUSIC FESTIVAL
July 30–Aug. 2
For music fans and performers alike, Pickathon Music Festival eels like heaven. Every August since 1999*, this annual gathering of artists and audiences at Pendarvis Farm has celebrated the summer with music and revelry.
Pickathon’s lineup is geared toward new music discovery; don’t worry if you haven’t heard of most of the artists — that’s half of the fun! The festival always releases a Spotify playlist so you can hear participating acts beforehand. And once you’re at the fest, Pickathon makes it easy to see all the artists you want. Each act performs two times over the course of the weekend at two different venues.

You are invited to the Northwest Fossil Fest presented by North America Research Group. This year’s theme is “Dinosaurs at the Birdfeeder.” There will be exhibits, activities, and free fossils for kids, fossil prep demonstrations, and more. This year, Snowie PDX will be selling sno-cones too. Please bring your fossils for identification.
All are welcome and encouraged. Free event.
HILLSBORO HOPS VS EVERETT AQUASOX

Playing at the state-of-the-art Hillsboro Hops Ballpark, watch the Hops take on the Everett AquaSox. Catch a fun, affordable, family-friendly game and experience the thrill of minor league ball.
BIRD WATCHING EXPLORIENCE

Bird lovers can flock to this Explorience hosted by the Seven Capes Bird Alliance in partnership with Lincoln City Parks and Recreation and Explore Lincoln City. Learn about coastal birds and their natural habitat. This bird-watching adventure starts with a brief overview by a local expert followed by a guided walk at the Alder Island Nature Trail Loop. This easy, one-mile trail loops through riparian and wetland habitat along the Siletz River. Look for Warbling Vireo, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, and other warblers and raptors.
This Bird Watching Explorience begins at 9 a.m., lasts for two hours, is free, and requires no registration. Meet in the parking lot on the east side of Hwy 101 at the south end of the Siletz River Bridge.
BLUEGRASS JAMS

Hopworks is thrilled to welcome Patrick and his rotating vintage bluegrass band for a weekly jam session. They’ll be playing classic tunes from the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s, along with a solid lineup of original songs in that same hard-driving, traditional style. Join a toe-tapping good time filled with lively music, great vibes, and cold drinks. Whether you’re a bluegrass fan or just looking for a fun night out, Hopworks is the place to be.
Come on down, grab a drink, and soak up the good vibes. This foundation of inspiring individuals forms the basis of the community we're building in Portland to inform our present and evolve our future. We'd love for you to join the movement.
OPS FEST: THE COMEDIE OF ERRORS
July 11–Aug. 19
Two sets of identical twins, masters (Antipholus) and servants (Dromio) were separated by a shipwreck. Antipholus of Syracuse arrives in Ephesus, and Adriana mistakes him for her husband (E.Antipholus).. S.Antipholus gets a gold chain E.Antipholus ordered, but then E.Antipholus is arrested for not paying. Confusion reigns until Antipholus’ parents are found.
OPS Fest brings no-cost repertory Shakespeare to parks and venues throughout the Portland Metro area. The company uses the original practice techniques of Elizabethan England: limited rehearsal, scrolls in hand, audience interaction, and an onstage prompter. In Shakespeare’s Era, the audience knew the actors had not rehearsed and that the only context each had of the play was their own role on a scroll. The play was as fresh to the actors as the audience.

Nationally recognized as the largest continuously operating open-air arts and crafts market in the country, the Portland Saturday Market Combines the vibes of an art show, a live street concert and an open-air bazaar. has been a beloved Rose City tradition since 1974 — in 2024, the market celebrated its 50th anniversary and earned the “Oregon Heritage Tradition” title. It’s considered the largest continually operating arts-and-crafts fair in the United States, drawing up to 1 million visitors during its annual season.
