The Greenbrier Companies, headquartered in Lake Oswego, announced CEO Lorie Tekorius will retire on January 6, 2027, with a successor named.
The railcar maker said on August 31, 2026 that president and CEO Lorie Tekorius will step down at the start of 2027 and be succeeded as president and CEO. Greenbrier is one of the area's largest private employers and a fixture of the Lake Grove business corridor.

Lake Oswego's Greenbrier Companies completed gondola railcars built with low-emission steel as part of a circular-economy collaboration with SSAB Americas and Alter Trading.
The companies announced on August 20, 2026 the production of 50 gondola railcars using SSAB Zero low-emission steel, closing the loop on steel from scrap to finished railcars. The project showcases the innovation coming out of Greenbrier's Lake Oswego headquarters.

Lake Oswego's population is around 40,700, with a median household income near $141,500 and a median age of about 46.
